About Me

On this blog I mostly write about museums, although in the archives you’ll also find writing about art and art history.

I am Postdoctoral Researcher on the AHRC-funded project ‘Museum Closure in the UK 2000–2025’, at Birkbeck, 2023–25.

I was a Visiting Early Career Fellow at the John Rylands Research Institute and Library, University of Manchester, 2022–23.

I worked as Museums Researcher on the AHRC-funded project UK Museums during the COVID-19 crisis: Assessing risk, closure, and resilience at Birkbeck, 2021–2022.

Before that, I was research assistant on Birkbeck’s Mapping Museums project, 2017–2021.

I completed my PhD on the histories of closed museums at Birkbeck in June 2022.

In 2016, I gained an MA in art history and museum studies at Birkbeck, and previously trained as a painter at the City and Guilds of London Art School. My paintings and prints are in a number of private collections and I have also worked to commission.
